It was a star-lit night at Copperhead Road as friends and family gathered in The Empire Room to spend a precious hour together, celebrating dance and bidding the weekend a warm welcome. YAY the weekend! Time to relax and do what we love. And at Elysium Cabaret, we love music and movement. We love intricate sets, fabulous costumes, and tightly syncronized dance sequences. Let’s take a look back at the show which featured some of the finest and most dedicated choreographers in Second Life, complimented by some very sexy dancers. With thanks to DJ Gunner for the music, Paul, Jilley, Wiz and Babypea for the Administrative responsibilities, and the AUDIENCE for all their generous tips, love and support! I have asked the choreographers to share a few words about what advice they would give to someone new to dance. Those who chose to contribute will have their replies posted with the pictures of their acts, with thanks and gratitude for having a spirit generous enough to share.
But first let us congratulate tonight’s winner of the Golden Tweezers!! CONGRATULATIONS JENI for this:

What advice would you give to someone new to dance?
Be yourself, express yourself, don’t think you have to do certain styles if it’s not you an you don’t feel it don’t.
This is your chance to be creative and share yourself. Create your masterpiece from your heart.
Never be afraid to ask questions, and never stop learning.
Namaste

A garage and a group of sexy gals, all that grease… no wonder they are so dirrty!
Christina Aguilera “Dirrty”

1. Why did you choose this song to create a dance to? What was your inspiration?
Christina Aguilara’s Dirrty is one of the very first routines I ever created in SL when I came back to SL and joined the wider dance community about 3 years ago in Dance Xcetra. It’s always held a special place in my heart. A fun song…. a naughty song. One of girl bonding stepping out and saying here we are boys… Be prepared…
2. What were the particular challenges you dealt with when creating this dance?
This one was hard for me. I looked at the set. Not so much about the timing but more because I looked at the set. I looked at the dance. At who I was then and who I am now. I had to destroy everything and start over because that is not who I am anymore. The Britt I was in 2015/16 when I created this is no longer the Britt who dances today. I created the original dance in huddles, this time around I created it all with Spot On.
3. What does this dance mean to you?
It’s about growth and about letting go of the past and moving forward.
4. Is there anything you would like others to know about your dance?
How much appreciate my family I have today. I couldn’t have done this without them. Their support and confidence in me has helped me grow and continue to grow and learn every day.
What advice would you give to someone new to dance?
Go into it remembering that dancing is meant to be fun. Find the fun in dance and try not to stress. Don’t ever be afraid to ask for help from others who dance and always remember that no matter how long you dance there is always things to learn.. There will always be someone who si better then you and people you can learn something new from, so do not let your pride get the better then you. and last but not least HAVE FUN! We are a family and a community…
