WELCOME TO THE WEEKEND!
It was Friday night and excitement hung in the air as dancers and choreographers gathered backstage in The Empire Room on Copperhead Road. Poor Paul and Wiz were abandoned to run the show on their own with DJ Corri graciously stepping up to spin the tunes, as Jilley, Pea, and Gunner all had to go out of town. A rare occurrence, but the show went on and went beautifully according to all reports. Thank you to all who contributed, including our precious audience, in making this show fabulous! And special thanks to Web for taking pictures of the show for our memories. We had the extreme joy of welcoming our beloved Zach back to the Elysium stage… has been too long, my Zach! And, guest performer Sweetlips performed for the Elysium family. Let’s take a look back at the show and share some creative joy!

1. Why did you choose this song to create a dance to? What was your inspiration?
I’ve loved this song since I first heard it. it’s a nice romantic song with meaning that isn’t over done. I don’t do romantic much so when I do I don’t want to do the same songs everyone else has done. I felt it made it more special.
2. What were the particular challenges you dealt with when creating this dance?
finding the right dances,and animations There are some things I had to leave out because my vision and what SL would allow didn’t agree.
3. What does this dance mean to you? Is it a bit of fun, or is there a deeper meaning?
This dance has a much deeper meaning see below.
4. Is there anything you would like others to know about your dance?
This dance was made for Hailie, it’s our 1 year anniversary weekend of being married on the 6th.. I wanted her to know how much she meant to me by selecting a song that is as unique as she is, sometimes feelings can be said but sometimes they are expressed even better in a song and a dance.
and tonight that is what Im doing…showing instead of just saying.

1. Why did you choose this song to create a dance to? What was your inspiration?
My inspiration for this song was Antonio. It is our anniversary on 6th May so I wanted to create a set that was a way of letting him know how special he is to me.
2. What were the particular challenges you dealt with when creating this dance?
Trying to keep it a secret from Antonio!! In the end I had to show him but I have kept a couple of things as a surprise.
3. What does this dance mean to you? Is it a bit of fun, or is there a deeper meaning?
It does have meaning to me, yes. My deep feeling of love for Antonio and how much of an impact he has had on my life and how I cannot imagine life without him and this song I felt expresses that.
4. Is there anything you would like others to know about your dance?
Just, I hope you like romance! haha
5. What advice would you give to new dancers?
Just have fun with your sets, learn all you can and just enjoy being creative. Most importantly, be yourself, do things your way. (Gunner always says I do it my way haha ohhh maybe a future set?)
6. Tell us about any pets you have in real life.
I have 2 dogs, a Shih Tzu and a Shih Tzu mixed with Staffordshire Bull Terrier, so we call him a Bull Shiht.
7. What are your other interests in SL outside of dance?
Spending time with my husband, exploring, taking photos, watching dance performances, decorating and shopping.
