Friday night, excitement in the air as dancers flitted about backstage at The Empire Room, applying makeup, adjusting costumes, warming up those limbs… in preparation for another fabulous show from Elysium Cabaret! Paul and Jilley greeted arriving guests as DJ Gunner spun tunes to warm up the crowd. Copperhead Road was the place to be, and it was time to welcome another weekend. Let’s take a look at what Elysium’s talented dance creators brought to the stage this week. With thanks to them for their dedication and hard work, and thanks to all who support Elysium Cabaret, be it on stage, backstage, or in the audience.

Sing, Sing, Sing (Part 1) from Fosse Broadway show
1. Why did you choose this song to create a dance to? What was your inspiration?
This song and set was originally for a Bob Fosse show that was cancelled so I put it away till later and later is now here.
2. What were the particular challenges you dealt with when creating this dance?
I had all kinds of plans for moving the dancers but did the dance first and found it left little scope for movement without sliding. So we all moved forwards only. Laugh.
3. What does this dance mean to you? Is it a bit of fun, or is there a deeper meaning?
I think everyone loves the big band era and this music is full of energy. I’m sure everyone is dancing in their seats besides me.
4. Is there anything you would like others to know about your dance?
I hope you enjoy it as much as I did choreoing it.

OST 2016 Set Vs Horus – Gods Of Egypt
My set tonight was inspired by the movie “Gods of Egypt” the music is from the fight scene between Horus and Set. I love history, Egyptian, Roman and Monarchy oriental and lots of others. So really even though my set was simple it was was fun to build, and a tribute to the Egyptian Gods. So that’s the story of my set this week. Thank you for letting me entertain you tonight.
