1. What is your history with dance in SL?
I have been dancing in SL for over 3 years now. I discovered dance purely by accident from a friend who I was RPing with at the time. I came to see her shows and thought I would never be able to do that…lol. I have had some great influences and lots of support especially in the beginning. The lovely Winnie gave me my break on the Winds of the Sahara stage, god bless her.
2. What do you enjoy the most about SL dance?
I enjoy being able to be creative, coming up with an idea and then putting my vision onto the the stage. Being able to share dance with like minded people and most importantly have fun!
3. What do you enjoy the least about SL dance?
About dancing itself, nothing. Waypoints can be a headache sometimes but the hard work is worth it in the end.
4. What has been your best experience in SL dance?
I have done many shows and they are all wonderful experiences but to me it is about performance and art and most importantly supporting one another as a group. I get to share dance with my husband Quient, that makes it perfect for me.
5. Out of all the dances you have done or participated in, which is your fave?
I created a Harry Potter set some time ago now….it is so high prim it is difficult to perform but it was the most fun, I am a Harry Potter nerd lol. Maybe I will make another at some point!
6. What message would you like to leave for your fans or the dance community?
I hope you enjoy the choreographers creations, and appreciate all the time and effort it takes to create something for you to enjoy. I know for myself, I do not dance for money, the tips are lovely and show your appreciation and they are much appreciated by us all as they do help us in future creations. Tips do not cover the cost of our sets we do this for the love of dance, so enjoy!
7. Anything else you’d like to share?
When I first joined the dance community it was the most welcoming and supportive group of people and it felt wonderful to be a part of it. We need to remember we are all here to have fun and create, not to compete or try to be better than one another, not to drag anyone down, we should be inclusive, supportive and lift one another up.
I am so proud of my husband Quient, he has taught himself everything so we get to enjoy dance together. He has blown me away with how talented he is and he just keeps getting better every day! I am lucky I get to spend the rest of my life in SL and RL with him.
