1. What is your history with dance in SL?
My SL dance started in 2019 when I was invited to dance in another choreographers creation. I quickly stepped into choreography myself, with scary thoughts on all the techi stuff I have to learn. Not something I take to easy, but one day at a time and asking lots of questions with trial and error it all came together.
I now co-own Just Dance, love to encourage others to dance and enjoy dancing and choreography in a few troupes.
2. What do you enjoy the most about SL dance?
I love seeing all the creations, the colour and movement of someone’s imagination bringing dance to life. I also enjoy meeting new people and getting to know them as we live in such a diverse world here in SL.
Finding something new, to inspire and bring out creativity is a challenge I love to do and seeing in others. The SL dance community is one huge family of support and encouragement.
3. What do you enjoy the least about SL dance?
Hunting for costumes. This is the hardest part of the staging for me, real life I just go when called to the wardrobe department.
4. What has been your best experience in SL dance?
It has to be meeting so many who are willing to help another learn. How much support there is within the dance community. Being able to expand your creative mind in various directions and bring new ideas to the stage.
5. Out of all the dances you have created or participated in, which is your fave?
If I had to name one it would be when I performed a dance called ‘Now we are Free’ at one of the Dance Queens’ challenges. Following the show I was invited to join a Company that I had only dreamed of being a part of.
Also any dance when a dancer gives a smile from having taken part, or a member of the audience sends a happy message. Making another happy through a dance experience is special.
6. What message would you like to leave for your fans or the dance community?
Feeling a positive response from those watching the dance is very special. Dancing to bring joy to another is what I love to do.
7. Anything else you’d like to share?
Keep on dancing, do it your way and as if no one is watching. Always keep it fun. Want to dance on stage, want to get into choreography here in SL…just ask, there is always help out there.
