November 23rd 2018 at Elysium Cabaret!

It was quiet. Too quiet.

I arrived early at The Empire Room for once, passing through the grand entrance and between the plush seating to the backstage door. It was so quiet. I could have heard a pin drop. My brows knitted as steely eyes scrutinised the place. I took the secret staircase down to the dressing rooms. They were so tidy. The floor was clean, not strewn with costumes. Where was everyone? Where was all the noise? The dancers, Wiz, Paul and Jilley, Corri? Had I entered the Twilight Zone?

Had the show been cancelled? In almost six years, only perhaps two shows had ever been cancelled and that was because something serious had been going on with Second Life and people could not rez, they could not move, everyone was crashing, some unable to get back in… after trying for half an hour unsuccessfully to start the show, we gave up. Maybe that was what was happening tonight, something was wrong in SL and everyone had crashed except me and could not get back in. Which meant, I had the entire grid to myself. I wished that I liked shopping, for now I could TP to some massive shopping event and get in first try and not have to deal with the lag from so many avatars. I’d be able to shop in peace.

I wandered back upstairs and sat down at my cache mover, opened my bag of pot and started rolling a joint. I gave the crab sitting behind me a toke and eyed the pancakes that I’d soon be devouring. I started pondering the upcoming anniversary. Six years of Elysium Cabaret in The Empire Room at Copperhead Road. Six years of Welcome to the weekend! I smiled. Yeah, it was sweet. Special. A lot of people, so so many people, were a part of it. People. It was about people.

I glanced down at the time and date on my computer monitor, and that was when I noticed something odd. Frowning, I looked over to the large clock on the wall. I realised it had stopped. It was only 6am for me. The show didn’t start until my 1pm. No wonder no one was here! I was way early. I could go back to bed.

I shrugged. I wasn’t tired. Since I was here so early and no one else was around, might as well go through everyone’s dressing tables and look for secrets. My eyes sparkled and my lips curled slow motion into a big Grinch-grin. I tapped my fingers together. I crept back down the stairs. So many dressing tables, so little time.

WELL! That was certainly enlightening. First of all, some of you will want to see me in world and offer me an appropriate bribe to NOT reveal what I found in your dressing tables. You know who you are *winks*. Let the bribe fit the secret! But some things are too holy to be insulted by a bribe.

WIZ! OMG I had NO IDEA! Now it all makes sense *grins and salivates salaciously as I slowly rub my hands together*.
PAUL!!!! Really???? O.O
Jilley! Pfffffffft, no surprises there :)~ just as I expected, though I am sure everyone else would be shocked. *winks*
Ant and Hailie, nothing but love letters to one another, total mush and boring UNTIL I got to the explicit sex excerpts… OMG O.O I DIDN’T KNOW THAT WAS EVEN PHYSICALLY POSSIBLE!!!!
DEAR!! OMG and you seem so well-mannered and reserved! Well well well! The truth is out!
Web, do you really need THAT MANY binkies?!?
Corri! HA! I knew it! Tell me, how do you get it to fit and does it get uncomfortable throughout the day?
Ray, you know baking soda does the same thing and costs a lot less.
Elayn, WOW your Master really IS hella kinky, can I get a diagram for that?
Si, hot dayum, where’d you get all those pictures of me naked?!?!?! O.O
Adam, I can only begin to imagine where you apply this, and who you apply it to.
Bella, so THAT’S where you get your energy!
Ariel, you should think about having those cleaned.
Kelly dayum that looks uncomfortable, does it cause chafing?
Ginty… WELL! When did you plan to inform Web of THAT?! Or were you going to keep it a secret forever?
BB, oh I always knew you were a kindred spirit, no wonder I like you so much! *grins knowingly*
Pan, oh mai, I didn’t know you rolled THAT way! We must talk more, I has questions!!
Britt, oh no you didn’t!! You did?? With… really?!?!
Denyaii… girl! I get it! It’s all completely normal, a lot of us girls do that.
Jo, holy cow Jo, does Seb know? Or perhaps it is Seb’s fault, I am sure he has corrupted you in some way.
Seb, so sorry about your blue ribbon but you had to know that sooner or later I would find it. I’m not giving it back. I have it sealed in a plastic baggy….
Luna, that is nothing to be ashamed of! A lot of us have to do that to stay sane.
Queenie, buuuwwwwaaaahhhhhaaaaa, I always knew there was more going on than what you were telling us!
Lina, guess what I finded! You HAVE been busy… we must get together and have girl talk and compare notes!
Stoke, so THAT’s how you got such nice biceps! Hmmm, is it painful?
Jeni I KNEW IT I KNEW IT I KNEW IT! I KNEW you had a big secret wild streak, and knew you knew how to use one of those… I can’t pronounce it, much less spell it!
Nara!!!! So THAT’S where you get all your inspiration! Who would have guessed… clever girl!!!!
Diawa *snorts* um yeah, I always knew about that.
Eva, oh so THIS is how you do that! YAY ME I have your secret magic bag!
Taema, oh NOW I can see WHY Kyser is so spellbound by you!
Kyser, HAHA you will never have a moment’s peace again unless you pay me a very good bribe to keep THIS secret!! *chortles*
Melvis… MELVIS!! ALL THIS TIME! How come you never TOLD ME?!?! *swoons*
Nadi, my dear, does your mother know about that?
Sammy, until now only you and your hair dresser knew for sure! *winks*
Storm, I’M TELLING LIRI!!!!
Liri, I’M TELLING STORM!!!!
Tray *cackles* you know, I have suspected this for a LONG time! Don’t worry. Your secret is safe. For now.
SoCo… you know I love you, but I am seriously calling the health department about that. There comes a time you have to toss things into the bin!
Ame, YES YES YES exactly!! That’s the secret that we don’t want men to find out we know!
Zach, well! I should say I am shocked but really I am not, I’m actually oddly… turned on.
Gracie, OMG my illusions are proven delusions… and here I thought you were so sweet you must still be a virgin! *faints*
Sarah, who is Tenzin Gyatso????
Diamonte *snickers* we will just let that be our little secret. *grins and chuckles*
Mikiko, you GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO GIRL!! It’s amazing what the human body can be trained to do!
Cannon… I am so sorry your famous red thong has vanished from your dressing table. Hopefully the thief will be apprehended and the thong recovered. NOT!
ALEXIS! Oh you do not get away with that, I know the truth cause I have been to the mountain and I have SEEN! We must talk to a priest and see if he can help you with what I found in YOUR dressing table!
Niecho… you and I will talk later. In private. *just smiles like a sock monkey*
Anashara!! NOW I see the REAL reason you don’t *have time* to make dances!! *cackles*
Victory, I am wondering, does that make it hard to walk?

Well! That was enlightening. And exhausting. If I did not get to your dressing table, it is because I ran out of steam. Maybe next time. Meanwhile, tonight’s Golden Tweezers Award goes to another Duet! Here are the winning posts:

[18:47] Niecho Vollmar: Most guys are commando unless you need to see our underharments
[18:47] VixenB: OMG Niecho I thought that said underhammers.. I was like DAYUM!!

CONGRATULATIONS NIECHO AND ALEXIS!!

NOW for a look at our show. Second Life was playing up and even though the audience was light due to the Thanksgiving holiday, something was messing with us. We pushed through it and still got the show performed, great work Team!

Night of the Wolf – Nox Arcana

1. Why did you choose this song to create a dance to? What was your inspiration?
This is the first pit style dance I’ve created, a smaller round stage, normally visible on all sides. I wanted a peek into private and powerful moment, a bellydance/fusion style, and something that tapped into the dark side. This song grabbed me and wouldn’t let go!

2. What were the particular challenges you dealt with when creating this dance?
I needed to really develop a story for this dance, the music has a lot of repetition, no lyrics. The story tied everything together and created the flow – hopefully an interesting one!

3. What does this dance mean to you? Is it a bit of fun, or is there a deeper meaning?
Tapping into that inner wolf, powerful, strong, and calling it, giving in to that power, embracing it.

4. Is there anything you would like others to know about your dance?
When we create we pour our energy into our creation, and every single show is unique because of it.

[2018/11/23 18:17] Jilley Resident: who she got cooking in those pots?

[17:26] Greenie Flanagan: Si am I allowed to say there was a pole involved?
[17:28] Sidwg: careful Kelly… always keep Baby guessing and wanting more

1. Why did you choose this song to create a dance to? What was your inspiration?
I like the tempo and thought I could do a fun dance with this music. I always intended to strip the dancers…. whether shirts off or down to jocks.
Sometimes you see a dance in your mind but struggle to make it work with the animations in SL, but this time I was able to create something that pretty much resembled my vision, and the audience enjoys it too…

2. What were the particular challenges you dealt with when creating this dance?
The explosions in the music needed explosions on stage to match that would work with the animations, so getting the right effects and having them in the right place took some time.

3. What does this dance mean to you? Is it a bit of fun, or is there a deeper meaning?
This is a great, sexy, masculine routine. Hopefully something to get the audiences pulses racing….. the men that dance with me enjoy this routine.
It’s nice to create a routine that works when dressed or stripped down showing plenty of bare flesh…. flexibility definitely helps when dancing in SL.

4. Is there anything you would like others to know about your dance?
I won’t be retiring this dance! It is way too much fun!

[18:26] Anashara: Can they leave their hats on though?
[18:27] Greenie Flanagan: Si Im on shore ready to welcome you home

Alicia Keys – Fallin’

1. Why did you choose this song to create a dance to? What was your inspiration?
Besides loving Alicia Keys I just loved this song has great emotion in it.

2. What were the particular challenges you dealt with when creating this dance?
Just trying to get the bed to move in a straight line lol.

3. What does this dance mean to you? Is it a bit of fun, or is there a deeper meaning?
oh mostly fun I love doing sexy dances.

4. Is there anything you would like others to know about your dance?
Everyone loves sexy don’t they? LOL

Focus – Ariana Grande

1. Why did you choose this song to create a dance to? What was your inspiration?
I liked this song as soon as I heard it and a set was built in my head before the song was over! lol.

2. What were the particular challenges you dealt with when creating this dance?
A set always has it’s challenges but this one came together quite quickly, of course when you have anything moving in a set, it can come with problems but this set was relatively straight forward, thankfully.

3. What does this dance mean to you? Is it a bit of fun, or is there a deeper meaning?
This is a fun set, being an Ariana Grande fan and wanting to perform this with the thought in mind of how much she did for Manchester (where I am from, if you didn’t already know) after the terrorist attack at her show. She really did gain a lot of respect from everyone here and was made an honourary Mancunian!

4. Is there anything you would like others to know about your dance?
If you notice, I have a tiny bee on the top left hand side of the camera (looking at it from the audience). This is a symbol for Manchester (The Manchester Bee) and was used a lot after the terrorist attack as a symbol of strength. I link this with Ariana and all she did to contribute in support of the victims families. So whenever I do an Ariana song…..look out for the bee! 🙂

[18:35] Jilley: Ant, must be nice to have your name on someone’s butt
[18:36] Jilley: Im going to put my name on Pea’s ass

Dear
Chester See – A Life of Regrets

1. Why did you choose this song to create a dance to? What was your inspiration?
I love Chester See and have wanted to do something by him for ages but all his songs are very long, so when I came across this one I jumped to do an act to it.

2. What were the particular challenges you dealt with when creating this dance?
Getting my ending pose to work with the last dance. I was determined to use that pose. =)

3. What does this dance mean to you? Is it a bit of fun, or is there a deeper meaning?
This was just a beautiful song and perfect music for my favorite dance, ballet.

[18:47] EvaHarley: I want to spend a week in dear’s set

Faderhead – Not A Robot

[17:22] Elayn: Is Pea looking to protect Kelly or get a piece of the Si action herself?
[17:22] Greenie Flanagan: I dont feel protected

1. Why did you choose this song to create a dance to? What was your inspiration?
I adore Faderhead and have a whole folder of Faderhead songs that I want to do. I found that avatar and wanted to use it in a dance and this Faderhead song worked perfectly.

2. What were the particular challenges you dealt with when creating this dance?
The set was a bit lacking in details, so just trying to fatten it up so that it did not look plain and boring.

3. What does this dance mean to you? Is it a bit of fun, or is there a deeper meaning?
It is a bit of FADERHEAD!!!! Badassery always.

4. Is there anything you would like others to know about your dance?
I love my robot girls. Not that we are robots. Of course.

[17:36] Paul Woodrunner: i want to direct your attention to the entrance of the empire room where you will see the dancer of the week poster congratulations BABYPEA
[17:37] Murhdur: APPLAUSE

[19:06] Jilley: see, Pea had to stand next to me, cos Im cool
1. Why did you choose this song to create a dance to? What was your inspiration?
To be honest I have no idea, I had originally thought of another theme. Some how when I started pulling out backdrops and things to work with, this came together. Granted I like Basketball so I guess that paid off. I think what may have inspired this set in the back of my mind was when I went to Vote, my place is in a school gym. Im thinking perhaps it just triggered old memories.

[18:22] Web Sass: anyone else seeing the Satan worshipper in the audience?
Lets Get Ready To Rumble
2. What were the particular challenges you dealt with when creating this dance?
This was probably one of the easiest ones I’ve come up with, all the songs just popped into my head the set cam together smoothly, It was one of those rare moments that we as dancers love when it happens.

[19:10] Jilley: i passed wind, sorry

3. What does this dance mean to you? Is it a bit of fun, or is there a deeper meaning?
Just fun nothing else.

4. Is there anything you would like others to know about your dance?
It was just fun, maybe relive a little of your high school gym basketball games, although Im not sure going under or behind the bleachers in this gym would be a good idea…then again..
I hope you all enjoyed the dance.

Attention Elysium Staff, Choreographers, Dancers

Hi Elysiums! As you may know, Elysium’s Sixth Anniversary is coming up on December 7th. This year is extra special cause the actual day is on a Friday. Six years of anything in SL is a long time. Here is some important information for all Elysium staff, choreographers, and dancers.

PHOTOS:
Some of you contributed photos of your dances to a project I am working on for our celebration. Thank you for participating. If you do not see the pictures you sent to me in the finished product, it is most likely because the picture you sent to me was way too small and looked really fuzzy when stretched to the needed size, or I had my own picture of your dance that I used, or the shape of your pic did not fit my project (long, skinny pics looked awkward), or your pic was more a ‘profile’ style pic or static pose and not a pic of you dancing on the Elysium stage. I ran into all of these issues when working on this project. But, I have a lot of pics and have been able to create something nice for the anniversary. I have tried to include everyone to the best of my ability. I hope you will enjoy it.

IMPORTANT:
ANYONE who would like to say a few words for Elysium’s anniversary, please NC what you would like to say, title it: Elysium Anniversary (Your Name), and drop it to me. This will become part of the project I am working on and will include your Elysium “angel” pic or a profile pic if you do not have/want an Elysium “angel” pic made. Perhaps you would like to say some words of appreciation to our audience, to the people you work and dance with, to your other halves who support you in your dancing, or to Elysium staff who keep the shows running. Or perhaps some words of appreciation to your mentor/s, your inspiration… whatever moves you. At the very least, you could comment on what a fine ass I have. EVERYONE is welcome to participate in this. The deadline for this is 11pm SLT, Friday, November 23rd. That’s this Friday. So anything that you want to say, this is your chance.

ANNIVERSARY DANCE:
I am doing a very special Anniversary Dance to Lady GaGa’s “Born This Way” in celebration of Six Years. If you wish to dance in this dance, I need you to IM me and let me know. Remember, IMs sometimes get ate by SL. I will reply to your IM. If I do not reply, then resend because I did not get it.

I guess that’s it for now.

XXOOs,

P

November 16th 2018 at Elysium Cabaret!

Well! I asked for advice on how to deal with Stoke’s exorcism, and I got nothing! I see how it is. No doubt, people feared what prize they’d win if I chose their suggestion on how to manage this tragedy. So I had to work it out for myself, entirely on my own with no help from anyone! But I am devoted to Stoke’s biceps and therefore, for myself and women everywhere, and even for a few of the guys, I was willing to do what was needed to Save the Biceps. You may recall, Stoke was turned into a hideous, gloating little sock monkey….

The Devil went up to Elysium, he was looking for a soul to steal.
He was in a bind cause he was way behind and was willing to make a deal.
When he came upon this sexy gal dancing the Cha Cha and dancing it hot.
And the Devil jumped up on the stage and said, “Girl, lemme tell ya what.
I bet you didn’t know it but I’m a dancer too.
And if you’d care to take a dare, I’ll make a bet with you.
Now you shimmy yer bewbies pretty well but give the Devil his due,
I’ll bet Stoke’s biceps against yer soul ’cause I think I’m better than you.”
I said, “My name’s Pea, and get the fuck off my stage asshole, this an’t no crowd dance,” and I kicked him out into the audience seating.

I then ran off stage and to the dressing room. The little woollen imp chased after me, which is what I was hoping he’d do. I snatched up Jilley’s pet-hair-removal brush and whipped around, smacking him with it. He stuck to it like a burr in a cat’s tail. I dashed over to the dryer and opened the door, tossed him in, and set it to run on high for twenty minutes. When I removed him from the dryer, he had puffed up like a pompom. Squeezing him tightly, I took him over and held him up to the mirror so he could see himself. He screamed. “You are a disgrace! Look at you, all soft and fluffeh and girly,” I sneered. “I am going to start calling you Dame Stoke! I think you need some MAKEUP!”

He struggled and fought wildly as I taped him to my dressing table and applied purple glitter eye shadow to his lids, some acid pink lipstick to his lips, and pink rouge to his cheeks. “That’s better,” I cried out gleefully. “Aren’t you pretty!” He wailed in anguish.

“Exorcism, ‘ey? I’ll exercise you! We are going to do this MY way!” I had worked out all an exorcism was, was exercising the demon until it got tired and frustrated and left the body. I just had to make the little shit uncomfortable and miserable enough that it decided being inside Stoke was too much work.

“I think you need a beehive!” I sat him up and started teasing his hair until it was standing straight up. I then combed it down a bit and tucked the ends in here and there, then sprayed it with enough hair spray to bind it like a plaster cast. Next, I got the spray-on hair colour from Wiz’s dressing table and sprayed the little beehive updo bright pink. “Aren’t you gorgeous,” I exclaimed, proudly holding the varmint up to the mirror. “What do you think? You just need a little tiara now.”

He shrieked in horror. “WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO ME?! LET ME GO, LET ME GO!”

“NEVERRRRRRRRRRRR” I cackled, “I am having fun! I hope you NEVER leave Stoke’s body, Dame Stoke! This is way funner than playing with dolls or biceps! Hmmmm. You need a bustier and a girdle, methinks, and maybe some stockings and high heels? Just have to find ones small enough to fit you, or I can improvise… I can cut something down and stitch it right to you. Yes! We can do this!”

I stitched him into a wee make-shift corset and used some of Jilley’s knee-highs as stockings for him, then put a pair of hot pink stilettos into edit mode and shrunk them down to fit him just right. “Hmmmm,” my brows dipping as I examined him, “You need a thong. Too bad you are only a PRIM avatar and not MESH, if you were mesh I could at least get appliers for you… it must suck to be some outdated 2005 old-school HAS BEEN of an avatar!”

His eyes widened and he looked truly hurt. I saw his chin start to quiver as his bottom lip poked out, his eyes pooling with tears.

No mercy! “Don’t be a cry baby,” I scolded. I clamped him into a wee X-shaped BDSM frame that I had gotten from Gay Pygmy Isle (yes, there really is such a place in Second Life, leave it to me to know this… I have some dear friends who used to live there, was a heap of fun, we must organise an excursion… road trip!). I then smiled wickedly. I started to speak but froze for a moment with my lips parted, my words suspended for a dramatic pause. He looked at me expectantly, waiting in anticipation. “Now for the real fun,” I yelped, startling him so bad he almost leapt out of his wool.

I took a bottle of Le Jardin Max Factor perfume and opened it, gripping the pretty pale green bottle tightly as I thrust my hand forward repeatedly, sprinkling him with the flowery scent. “Oh don’t you smell pretty! Just like a flower garden! Who’s a pretty girl…” I grinned brightly at him and shook my head side to side very fast over and over, teasing his tummy with my nose as I taunted, “Who’s a pretty girl?! Who smells sooooooooooooooooo sweet like a fresh spring bouquet?!”

He howled in misery, big tears streaming down his face, dripping to his chest only to be absorbed by his knitted body. “You evil bitch, YOU SIREN FROM HELL, let me go, LET ME GO!”

“No no no, this is so much fun, I have decided I don’t want Stoke’s biceps back. I will have way more fun tormenting you. Hey! Listen to what I have organised for you!” I changed the stream to Gunner’s stream, which I had set to play Mika’s “Lollipop” on loop.

His face froze and jaw slowly dropped as beady black eyes widened. “NO, NOT THIS,” he cried out. “ANYTHING BUT THIS! I’d rather hear Macarena, Crazy Frog, JUSTIN BIEBER! ANYTHING BUT THIS!!!! PLEASE I BEG YOU, HAVE MERCY! This is so cruel and unusual, it is sadistic, how COULD you be so inhumane! This has to be illegal, a violation of some UN law… this is torture, it is DEPRAVED! PLEASE STOP, PLEEEEEEEEEEASE play something else… ANYTHING else! I’m calling Amnesty International!!!!”

I tilted my head to one side and cast him an amicable smile. “Screw that. I am going to have a nap. I’ll be back in a couple days. And don’t worry about anyone messing with the stream or coming in to annoy you, no one comes here during the week. You’ll have the place to yourself, just you and Mika to serenade you!” I picked up a black fedora, put it on and tipped it, dipping my head with a little wave of my fingers. I then headed for the door. Behind me I heard his wailing and screeches of protest, his begging for clemency. I yelled back before teleporting away, “I hope you are still here when I get back! I have lots more fun planned for us, Dame Stoke!”

Well… I guess I exercised him alright.

I am very sad to report, IT is gone. It left Stoke’s body. As we could see come Friday night at The Empire Room. Paul and Jilley greeting guests, Wiz making sure all backstage was in order, Corri rocking the tunes… frams joining us from all over the grid to welcome in the weekend. And Stoke:

So Stoke is back, fully restored to his former glory and Dame Stoke is just GONE! Just when I was having so much fun with him. The little coward, running away from me… I was about to slap a collar on him and call him MINE! Humph. Fine, I will console myself with Stoke’s biceps. He does look fine in a tux, dayum, but really I think shirtless is his best look.

So! Onto the show! But FIRST, our Golden Tweezers Award to the post/s that I found the most amusing. Is often VERY hard to choose, we have some hilarious, witty people in our group and they do take the piss (give each other shit… tease one another… it’s an Aussie saying) a LOT! Heaps of fun. Tonight, our Golden Tweezers award goes to a duet. This is NOT the same thing as a tie. This is a new situation when more than one person makes posts that relate to one another in such a way that they play off one another. They have complimentary posts that work together to make more funny for ME to enjoy. Like Laurel and Hardy. Or Lucy and Ricky. Or Trump and CNN. They are way funnier when working together. This week’s duet is the clever team of Jilley and Elayn! And they are just BAD BAD BAD! READ this little shocker:

[17:24] Jilley: you have your willie out Storm? o:O
[17:24] Elayn: is it cold where Storm lives? I need to know if it’s worth camming…

Alicia Keys – Girl On Fire

1. Why did you choose this song to create a dance to? What was your inspiration?
The theme for this show was empowering women. We talked about it for a while and decided on Girl on Fire by Alicia Keys. We like the story behind the song, about a strong woman, exciting, dealing with the trouble that many women have to deal with head-on. After selecting the song, we talked about different sets that had to do with empowering women. We came up with the 19th Amendmend – the women’s right to vore. This was one of the most significant changes for women in the 20th century. So, we build a poling place – with protest signs and such. Since it’s Girl on Fire, we wanted to incorporate fire into the dance routine. So we added a second set – volcanos, fire, and some very cool avatar costumes.

2. What were the particular challenges you dealt with when creating this dance?
Building the volcanos and molten lava – it took some time to fine something that looked real. Creating the signs and a pose to hold the signs (protest) in the correct position for the first scene. Then of course the choreography and movement.

3. What does this dance mean to you? Is it a bit of fun, or is there a deeper meaning?
This is a powerful song that celebrates the strength of women – we tried to communicate that with our routine.

4. Is there anything you would like others to know about your dance?
We wanted it to be fun and for people to dance in their chairs with us as we perform the routine.

1. Why did you choose this song to create a dance to? What was your inspiration?
Honestly… I just love the beat, the feel and the sound of the song. Gets you right ‘there’ ya know? LOL

2. What were the particular challenges you dealt with when creating this dance?
Yes, the dang raked stage. I was trying something out and made it really hard on myself. But this is one of the first sets that I used only my own particles so that was something I was working on.

3. What does this dance mean to you? Is it a bit of fun, or is there a deeper meaning?
Just that women have been badass for a very long time. We can hunt that dino and fry it up in a pan.

4. Is there anything you would like others to know about your dance?
I hope they enjoy it. It was fun to build and if it brings a smile, it was a success.

Beyoncé – Run The World (Girls) [Lyrics] HD

1. Why did you choose this song to create a dance to? What was your inspiration?
This was a song I did a set to a long time ago and it never looked like I wanted it to. This theme was a perfect opportunity to try again.

2. What were the particular challenges you dealt with when creating this dance?
Getting it to look like I pictured it to, that is always a challenge. Bringing my vision to life.

3. What does this dance mean to you? Is it a bit of fun, or is there a deeper meaning?
Just for fun, Beyonce kicks ass.

4. Is there anything you would like others to know about your dance?
Girl Power! Who runs the world? GIRLS!

Mikiko
Shania Twain – Man! I Feel Like A Woman

1. Why did you choose this song to create a dance to? What was your inspiration?
THE THEME WAS WOMEN’S EMPOWERMENT AND I PICKED THE SONG MAN I FEEL LIKE A WOMAN. The whole expression is a celebration of being a woman these days, I think we’re kind of spoiled in a lot of ways, with the advantages we have. Feminists may not feel that way, but I do. It’s pretty darn fun to be a woman.

2. What does this dance mean to you? Is it a bit of fun, or is there a deeper meaning?
I think that it pretty much says it all I can dress as I want and do as I want and no one is there to suppress me or my desire to be a woman.

3. Is there anything you would like others to know about your dance?
That women are equal to men in all ways we are smart, talented, brave and very courageous that is why we give birth not men they could not handle it LOL.

Little Mix – Salute

1. Why did you choose this song to create a dance to? What was your inspiration?
This was a song that I wanted to do when I first started to dance (Little Mix – Salute) and when I found out the theme for tonight’s show I thought it would fit perfectly.

2. What were the particular challenges you dealt with when creating this dance?
Gremlins! haha well, I am not sure if they were SL gremlins but I had a few issues with the platforms moving out of line when raising from my stage. I fixed and moved them lower but then one of my flags disappeared in the process (I think Roo stole it as it was the flag for Australia, so if you see her running around waving a flag, you know where she got it lol).

3. What does this dance mean to you? Is it a bit of fun, or is there a deeper meaning?
This is a fun set with some girl power thrown in which symbolizes the strength of women and how we can be strong, tough, independent, yet feminine and sexy.

4. Is there anything you would like others to know about your dance?
Just that it took a lot of time and some headaches to create but was fun. Like I said earlier, this was the first song that I ever wanted to do but because I loved it so much I wanted the set to be great! So this is the second version of this set that I have built lol I am happy with how it turned out and I hope everyone enjoys it. I want to thank all my ladies for dancing with me and for helping make my set come to life!

November 9th 2018 at Elysium URGENT ALERT!

ATTENTION PLEASE!

This is mandatory reading for all Elysiums. We have a serious issue that has developed, one that has me most distraught. At Thursday’s rehearsal, I had a disturbing experience that revealed to me a terrible tragedy has occurred. I bid all Elysiums, their friends and families, to do what they can to help.

It was during Antonio’s dance that I noticed the catastrophe. I did notice a small sock puppet dancing around backstage earlier in the evening, but paid it no mind. Sock puppets are harmless. Right? When it appeared on Antonio’s set, I thought it must be lost or having a goof… then I realised it was actually a part of Ant’s dance. I thought it a bit odd but shrugged it off, as I considered it a possible metaphor for something in Antonio’s real life. After all, men and socks have a rich, diverse history and a complicated relationship.

But then something startled me out of my complacency. I noticed the sock monkey’s name tag. StrokeMe. I mean, StrokeMy (I always read that wrong, most likely wishful reading). My heart surged, almost bursting from my chest as adrenaline flooded into my spinning head, a billion points of light bursting before my eyes. I was blacking out… I could not breathe. My chest started tightening, with the pain spreading up into my neck and jaw, moving through my shoulders and down my left arm. I was having a myocardial infarction. I started gasping for air, making tiny cries almost like hiccups of desperation, whimpering pathetic appeals for help.

WHO DID THIS! JUST LOOK!

Cheeky bastard, standing there all smug smiling at me during Eva’s crowd dance rehearsal. Not even threatening me, just smiling like… DAMIEN! Damien the Devil, an evil child-demon… it was Damien the Sock Monkey, a knitted incubus who had come straight from Hell to possess STOKE and STEAL his biceps!

I glared at him and he taunted me, with those big red lips and that diabolical sickeningly sweet sardonic grin. I stamped my foot at him and demanded to see his cards, but he refused to tip his hand. I insisted that he restore Stoke at once, return him to his former glory and LEAVE his body in the name of Wiz’s feather duster or I would drag him to Paul’s office, load him into the gun, and shoot him right into the observed slotted panel, thereby collapsing his wave function of infinite possibilities.

He shrugged and then his head spun around, doing a 360 several times.

I hissed at him, steam coming from my flared nostrils. “ALL sock monkeys can do that,” I yelled, unimpressed.

“Your mother knits socks in Hell,” he yelled back.

He then spat Hai Karate aftershave all over me, and I gasped in shock, tearful eyes fluttering in horror and outrage, whimpering as I gagged on the wretched stench, my arms held helplessly half in the air. I sputtered as he continued to stare at me, that smile still frozen on his fat lips. “JILLEY,” I cried, indignant and humiliated. I gathered my skirts and turned to run to the door and find the nearest tub of tomato juice to bathe in. But I paused a moment, snarling at him, my lips pulled back to bare teeth, “I’m telling on you. And, I shall return with my Whippet BOOMER! He loves chewing up soft toys! Rips the stuffing right out of them!”

He shrugged and leapt gleefully into the air, exposing his cards. I huffed, my brows dipping as mesmerising dark eyes squinted a moment between lush curtains of black lashes. The woolen fiend was for it now. I knew what his cards were! I could now gamble with him. Make a bet to get back Stoke’s biceps. I knew he wouldn’t be able to resist a dare.

If any of you know of any way to help get this miniature beast in wool to leave Stoke’s body and restore his biceps, please post your method here in the comments. I shall reward the best method posted with something that amuses me. I’ve thought of the usual processes of expelling the Devil. Perhaps an exorcism? Launder him in holy water? Throw a Bible at him? Or, have one of the guys pry those mondo lips apart and use that sock as a proper receptacle for secret men’s business. OH OH!! Have Gunner WEAR him! OMG with Gunner’s toe hooves, that sock monkey will be shredded! But… would that also hurt Stoke, since that is all that’s left of his body? If I do make a bet with him, what should I bet? Or what should I dare? I need advice here!

Please help! How do we get the stuffed menace to leave Stoke’s body and restore his splendor?

But first. Tomato juice bath.

AND the winner of tonight’s Golden Tweezers Award! Which of course goes to the person who makes my favourite post in group chat during the show. And tonight’s winner is:

This is an emotional dance for me, I hope it makes everyone think of Hawaii and the aftermath of the volcanic eruptions there.

Mysto & Pizzi – Somebody’s Watching Me

1. Why did you choose this song to create a dance to? What was your inspiration?
I was at work, (see a pattern here?) but someone touched someone with a back scratcher to get their attention, and said person started singing “I always feel like some body’s touching me” well to be honest it always feels like someone at work is watching every move, So it just started whirling I went to youtube an found this version.

2. What were the particular challenges you dealt with when creating this dance?
Trying to get the right atmosphere and give the idea of what I’m getting at.

3. What does this dance mean to you? Is it a bit of fun, or is there a deeper meaning?
Its a bit of fun but also a way to release some hostility toward work, that i can’t release in RL or say anything about an remain employed. as bad as it is being unemployed is worse.

4. Is there anything you would like others to know about your dance?
Not really, it’s just therapy thats one of the great things about dance and creation you can use things that are aggravating you and use them as part of an outlet to have some fun.

Avril Lavigne & Chad Kroegner “Let Me Go”

1. Why did you choose this song to create a dance to? What was your inspiration?
I listened to this song and it was so sad and mornful but it also reminded me of Lewis Carol’s Alice in wonderland… it has a very Dark Alice feel to it… You have this feeling of lost memories and how Alice is lost through the looking glass never to be found…

2. What were the particular challenges you dealt with when creating this dance?
The timing… for some reason the timing kept being off with this dance. I wanted to get it to be perfect as this was my first dance in months since last spring in coming back to the dance world, especially to my home Elysium.

3. What does this dance mean to you? Is it a bit of fun, or is there a deeper meaning?
I think it is both.. A bit of fun but also of lost love once again being found… to be able to let the past go and look to the future..

4. Is there anything you would like others to know about your dance?
To not let your past hold onto… cherish what you have, and enjoy it but to live in the present and have fun with it… for the past can capture and hold its grip never letting you go if your not careful… such as Alice lost in Wonderland…

Alexis
Loren Allred – NEVER ENOUGH (LYRIC VIDEO) [The Greatest Showman Soundtrack]

1. Why did you choose this song to create a dance to? What was your inspiration?

The costume.. lol and the particles.. This one was so special to me and in my heart the rest was easy for THIS one…

2. What were the particular challenges you dealt with when creating this dance?
Web built the set and didn’t leave much room for dancing. I’ve done that before, built myself right off a set… so I had to move a few things around a bit to make some more room for dancing.

3. What does this dance mean to you? Is it a bit of fun, or is there a deeper meaning?
You might look very different, but you can still be sexy and still have fun! YOU decide if you are sexy, and having fun is a choice.

Kenny Rogers – The Gambler (GBX & Sparkos Hoedown Remix Bootleg)
1. Why did you choose these songs to create dances to? What was your inspiration?
For the crowd dance, we normally choose three songs. The Gambler by Kenny Rogers is just one of those songs that make me burst out singing – it’s just a feel good song that I can also really relate to. Gotta know when to hold ’em and when to fold ’em! It all just flowed from there.

[19:18] Web Sass: i don’t even wanna suggest an ace in the hole in this avi

Juice Newton – Queen of Hearts
2. What were the particular challenges you dealt with when creating these dances?
I wanted to keep the songs upbeat with a lot of energy, so did a lot of searching for remixes I liked for the gambler and poker face.

Lady Gaga – Poker Face (C. Baumann Remix)
3. What do these dances mean to you? Are they a bit of fun, or are there deeper meanings?
Definitely fun! I love to create the crowd dances as a theme and to keep them upbeat and exciting. It’s a time when I’m not afraid to get a little weird and even silly. The more hooting, hollering, and having fun that people do – the more thrilling the crowd dances are for me!

4. Is there anything you would like others to know about your dances?
Dare to be different! I was first going to create a saloon set, but scrapped it, went a bit more abstract casino. Still kept my cowboy hat though. 🙂

Elysium Cabaret – October 6, 2017

Here are _ reasons why coming to the Empire Room to watch  the Elysium Cabaret Dancers put on a show is better than a RL concert.
1. NO TRAFFIC – Who wants to spend any more time in their cars or public transportation than they have to during a week full of commuting to and from work?  All you need to do is click on the landmark in your favorites or in a personal invite from Paul in our group or the Dance Queens group and within seconds you are at the doorway to the theater.
2. NO PARKING – So you are now within a couple blocks of the theater and all you need to do is find somewhere to park your damn car and walk up or down 3 or more levels and trudge a few blocks on foot to the theater entrance. You’re ready
3. NO TICKETS – You’ve locked yourself in the bathroom (again?) and a madman is turning the door into splinters with an axe. A head pokes through the jagged opening and ….. I’mmmmmm Baaaaaaaack. So this is my first attempt at reviewing the dances AND taking the pics. Please forgive me.        Starts humming along to “I Got a Feeling.”

Elysium’s November 2nd 2018 Show

It was Friday. My man was home, having a rare show-day off from work. Thus, I woke up earlier than usual and went to The Empire Room early for once, rather than running in a half hour before the start of the show in a daze because I kept hitting the snooze on my alarm and still could not wake up. I had the night off, which meant I would get to sit in my hammock and enjoy the show completely, not having to do a thing other than simply relax. I decided to wear my favourite outfit to the show: a full body alpha, head to toe. Which meant I would not have to put on makeup, do my hair, or even get dressed. What could be easier?!

Since I was invisible, I thought this would be a good time to lurk and spy. But first, I needed to find out who would be in next week’s show so I could organise a model for the show poster. I headed up to Paul’s office, where the schedule was posted on the wall. Being invisible, I didn’t even have to open the door. I passed right through the wall. Once inside, my invisible eyes adjusting to the light, I saw the strangest thing. There was a big black board up against a wall. And a few feet in front of that was a grey panel of some kind that had two slits in it. And then again a few feet in front of that was some sort of gun thing that had a central cylinder aimed at the grey panel with the two slits. To one side of the panel was a giant eyeball. And then on a table behind the gun was a bowl of marbles.

A voice sang out, “The observer collapsed the wave function by observing.” My eye lashes fluttered as though pierced by blinding light. WHAT was Paul UP to?! What sort of quantum madness was going on in his office? What happened to sexual innuendo, cat fights over costumes, and being lashed by feather dusters? Where were the bare chests, hairlines, and bewbies? What on Earth was Paul into? What magic was this! I was confused. My confusion turned to fear, then panic. I had to get out of here. Where there was science, mathematics would be not far away. With mathematics comes the most terrifying thing in all of life: Algebra. Adrenalin pumped through my veins as my heart pounded in my ears. I started screaming. I couldn’t breathe.

I ran for the door. It felt like my legs were logs, my blood was syrup. I felt I was moving in slow motion. All I could think of was, the particles that made up my own invisible self being sucked into that gun and shot through those slits, the Eye of Observation collapsing any chance of me interfering with myself and breaking into waves of infinite possibilities. This was just wrong… it was sick! Science and dance do not belong together! Creation and creativity were not the same things.

I escaped through the closed door and ran for the dressing rooms. Once safely in the basement, amidst the scuffle of dancers preparing for the night’s show, I fell against a wall, my eyes crossed as confusion and bewilderment gnawed on my senses. I gasped for breath. I found my walker that Jilley had gotten for me as a gift and used it, almost falling on top of it, scooting my way to my favourite pink casting couch. I lay there for a while, eyes wide gazing around in a borderline catatonic stare, looking for something to make me feel normal again. I poured a scotch, downed it. I rolled a cigarette and lit it with shaking hands, inhaling deeply, blowing out a long plume of smoke. My eyes started to glaze over. I was feeling better.

“There’s no smoking in the dressing rooms,” came a familiar voice. “And fix your tag.” I raised my eyes to behold The Wiz. I exhaled a sigh of relief. My eyes clouded over with a lusty haze as full peach lips slowly curled into a lascivious smile. Everything was okay. Lesson learned: Stay out of Paul’s office. Just don’t go in there. Ever. Because there was some bizarre contemporary voodoo going on in there, quantum hoodoos and just bad scientific gris-gris. I frowned a moment as I took another drag off my smoke, ignoring Wiz in the hopes of getting another lashing as a brave idea started to form in my mind. Note to self: Replace Paul’s mad scientist gear with a hot tub and massage table STAT! And a pink casting couch. Maybe a BDSM cross and a Shibari suspension rig, a couple of cages… and we’d be all set. Then burn a lot of sage. I nodded.

Upstairs I could hear Paul and Jilley welcoming arriving guests as DJ Gunner blared out hot tunes to warm up the audience for the show that was about to start. I heard Paul call out, “Welcome to the weekend!” Sudden thoughts of Ricardo Montalban and Fantasy Island leapt into my mind. “Welcome indeed.”

We will take a look at the show but first! Tonight’s Golden Tweezers Award goes to *drum roll* some guy whose name I can’t spell! Let me look it up so I can copy/paste it.

Congratulations Niecho!

Zombie – Creep Mashup

1. Why did you choose this song to create a dance to? What was your inspiration?
Inspiration came first. And it came from the new Gong Show. They had Zombies doing ballet and I knew I needed to find a way to do the same in SL. Then I started combing YouTube for a song that would do it justice. I was not expecting to find a Creep/Zombie Mashup.

2. What were the particular challenges you dealt with when creating this dance?
After finding the right song I needed to find the right dances… and that took a while.

3. What does this dance mean to you? Is it a bit of fun, or is there a deeper meaning?
Its all fun! I tend to be dark and sad with my dances and song selections so this was dark and fun.

4. Is there anything you would like others to know about your dance?
I spent a LONG time trying to find GOOD zombie skins and I literally was shocked to find that there are some great avatars in everyone’s Inventory Library folders. I just needed to supplement the dress because I wanted flexi moving pieces for the movement.

1. Why did you choose this song to create a dance to? What was your inspiration?
It was at a birthday party and we were joking about it and how it could be funny and sexy at the same time it was sort of laid out then

2. What were the particular challenges you dealt with when creating this dance?
Making it interesting and getting the fades to work right

3. What does this dance mean to you? Is it a bit of fun, or is there a deeper meaning?
It’s a bit of fun

4. Is there anything you would like others to know about your dance?
I think given what I know now I would have done it a lot differently. I may redo it completely next year.

Mad World – Jasmine Thompson

1. Why did you choose this song to create a dance to? What was your inspiration?
I got the white rotating figures on a halloween hunt last week, and found the large broken stone statue at the same sim, and just had to combine them in a dance. Really don’t know how I came to choose Mad World, just came across it on Youtube the very same day.

2. What does this dance mean to you? Is it a bit of fun, or is there a deeper meaning?
Neither, I just really liked that song cover, but I guess we do live in a mad world at times.

4. Is there anything you would like others to know about your dance?
The girl that sang the Mad World cover, Jasmine Thompson, was only 14 years old.

1. Why did you choose this song to create a dance to? What was your inspiration?
I was thinking of themes and thought a superhero theme would be fun to do, throwing in some martial arts and a little flying too.

2. What were the particular challenges you dealt with when creating this dance?
This is my first crowd dance, Antonio talked me through it and encouraged me all the way which was amazing. I would like to thank him for all his support and guidance, he is amazing! To be honest, it wasn’t as difficult as I expected and I had a lot of fun building the set.

3. What does this dance mean to you? Is it a bit of fun, or is there a deeper meaning?
This is definitely a fun set with a bit of girl power thrown in!

4. Is there anything you would like others to know about your dance?
Not much else to know about the crowd dance other than, have fun and lets kick some ass!

AND one more thing special about tonight… I got to dance with my boyfriend for the first time ever! BEHOLD the glory of my beloved Supermutant, STRONG from Fallout 4!! We have so much fun together 🙂

Ain’t he a hunk?
